The Emory & Henry defense held off a charging Catholic University offense to boost the Wasps to a narrow victory on the road Saturday.

Emory & Henry's two touchdowns came with its first possession at the beginning of the game and at the beginning of the second half.  The first touchdown was scored on a 15-yard run by Caleb Jennings, who scored the second touchdown on on a two-yard run.

For the remainder of the game, Catholic dominated in possessions. The Cardinals scored 10 points in the second quarter and found themselves threatening throughout the second half.

A persistent E&H defense, however, capitalized on four failed Catholic field goal attempts, making the difference in the final score. Among the top E&H defensive performers was C.J. Hodges, who made numerous tackles and broke up some important passes.

Emory & Henry (5-3, 1-3) will return home Saturday to face Washington and Lee university.
