Senior tight end Corey Shepherd hasn't been in the spotlight much during his years at Emory & Henry, thanks to former All-ODAC tight end Jeremy Keefe. But when he finally got his chance to have a big impact on the E&H football team, he has delivered.
The six-foot-four, 230-pound athlete from Hiltons, Va. has been blocking successfully on the line for running backs while making some big catches. "The best part of my game is my ability to block on running plays," Shepherd said.
Shepherd adjusted quickly to the pace of college football, thanks in part to the advice from a former high school coach, who now coaches him at Emory & Henry, Nick Colobro. "Coach Colobro told me and my teammates to work hard but never forget who you are and where you came from," Shepherd said.
Shepherd takes that advice into every practice and every game as he looks to continue to his success while not being overwhelmed by it.
