A former quarterback for the Wasps has returned to Emory & Henry College to serve as a member of the football staff.
Shannon Johnson was a member of the E&H football team from 1999 to 2002 and part of the most recent ODAC Championship team at Emory & Henry. He will coach wide receivers primarily and assist with quarterbacks as well as tight ends.
Head Coach Don Montgomery said he is very pleased with the addition of Johnson to the coaching staff, "Coach Johnson brings far more to the table than just being a football coach, he will be a great mentor and role model for all of our student athletes."
Johnson has coached at Christopher Newport University, Hampden-Sydney College, Slippery Rock Univ., Buckingham County and Alleghany High.
"It's good to give back to the program and continue the tradition of football success at the College," said Johnson.
