As of April 20, the sophomore from Nelson County, Va., posted a 10-8 record in both singles and doubles. Baker, an English major, enjoys all sports. "But I also love a great book," she says. She hopes to attend gradaute school to study psychology.

Black plans on graduating with a degree in religion and becoming a minister or working for a nonprofit organization. He is currently a senator in the E&H student government and enjoys playing ping pong and hanging out with friends.
- Veronica BlankenshipOFFR5'2Roanoke, VA / Northside HighBiology and Chemistry major, Veronica Blakenship was named 2009 First Team Blue-Ridge District and 2008 Honorable Mention Blue-Ridge District in outfield. She was named to the Honor Roll, served as Key Club Treasurer, an Early College Scholar and was published in Who's Who during her high school career.

- Amanda BradleyUFR5'7Castlewood, VA / St. Paul HighAmanda Bradley was named Cumberland Second and First Team short stop, Region D First Team, All Southwest Regional Team, named Most Valuable Player and the recipient of the Cumberland District Scholarship during her high school career. Bradley is determinded and strong willed, and plays softball for the love of the game. She is a firm believer in God.

She was also a member of the Beta Club and named to the Honor Roll. Buchanan's goal is be named All-ODAC.

- Chelsea Campbell3BFR5'3Saltville, VA / Northwood HighMass Communications major Chelsea Campbell was named All-District Honorable Mention 3rd Base in softball and a gold team medalist during her high school career. She graduated high school with a 3.5 GPA and led the Panther Pride Marching Band as a drum major earning many awards. Campbell serves as a lifeguard, loves Japanese food, traveling and diamonds. She is a third generation E&H Wasp.

- Jeff CasassaSR5'8"Virginia Beach, VA / Atlantic Shores Christian SchoolJeff Casassa has been leading the E&H men's cross country team to a season of improvement this year. He recently finished an impressive fourth place in the 8K Maroon invitational at Roanoke while his team finished fifth. A history, social students and secondary education major Jeff Casassa has posted several personal records since he began running for Emory & Henry including the 5K in 16:08, 10K in 33:10 and 8K XC in 26:48. Casassa is an honor student and has been named to the Dean's List. He hopes to enter a graduate history program and teach history at the college level.
- Brittany CliftC/SSFR5'3Fredericksburg, VA / Stafford SeniorPre-Law major Brittany Clift was named Most Valuable Player, Second Team All-District and the recipient of the Coaches Award during her high school career. She was an honors graduate, NAHS and received the Quill & Scroll Award. Clift has played softball and soccer since the age of 7 and enjoys photography.

- Christina HowardJR5'7Blountville, TN / Sullivan Central High SchoolMass Communications major Christina Howard was named Most Improved Junior on her high school cross country team, was an AIM Scholar, named to the honor roll and graduated with a 3.8 GPA. Howard also plays basketball for the E&H women's basketball team, loves shopping, considers herself very creative and collects rubber ducks.
- Catie NealSR5'5Harrisonburg, VA / SpotswoodA Chemistry major, Catie is serving her second year as co-captain of the swimming team. She was the recipient of the 2008 Coach's Choice Award and was an ODAC Academic All-Conference honoree. In 2007, she won the Team Spirit Award while making the Academic All-Conference team. A Dean's List honoree, she is a member of the, Eastman Chemical Society and has received various pre-medical scholarships. She hopes to pursue a career as a pediatrician.
- Jamie Price3BSO5'8Salem, VA / Salem HighAccounting major Jamie Price was named First Team All District and All Region, as well as an honorable mention All State during her high school career. She received an advanced diploma, was named a Distinguished Scholar and to the Dean's List at Bucknell University. Price plans on coaching softball and has been playing sports for 15 years.

- Michael RogersSR5'11"Gate City, VA / Gate CitySelected as Emory & Henry's Most Improved Player for 2008, Mike is one of the most consistent players in the E&H tennis line-up. In the 2008-09 season he has posted a 9-8 singles record and was a crucial part of the team's success against Greensboro and Guilford colleges in March. His athleticism and versatility on the court are due in part to his long participation in competitive sports, including high school basketball, baseball and golf. He is also a member of the E&H golf team for which he was chosen Most Valuable Player in 2008. He has a sister, Brittany, who plays basketball at Emory & Henry.

- Anne Saville1B/CFR5'5Hampton, VA / Hampton Roads AcademyEnvironmental Science and Business major Anne Saville was named Second Team Conference - Most Outstanding Offense, First Team All Conference - Coaches Award, Second Team All Tournament and Most Outstanding Defense during her high school career. She was All Academic in the TCIS Conference.

- Martin StilesFR5'4Medford, OR / Cascade Christian High SchoolEnvironmental Science major Martin Stiles was honored with the Oregon Scholar Athlete Award and was captain of the Cascade Christian High School Cross Country Team. He is the recipient of the Superintendent's Award, President's Volunteer Service Award and was a finalist in the Future First Citizen contest. Stiles enjoys playing the guitar, recording, landscape photography and is a tri-athlete. He also enjoys outdoor sports.
- Rebecca ThomasPFR5'5Hillsville, VA / Carroll Co. HighAthletic Training major Rebecca Thomas was named Most Valuable Player, Best Pitcher, First Team All SWD at Large and Second Team All SWD Pitcher. She attended the Southwest Va. Governor's School, was a member of the National Honors Society and an honors graduate. Thomas loves Dr. Pepper, being outdoors and her friends and family.

- Jessi WilliamsSO5'5"Bristol, VA / John S. BattleAt No. 3 Jessi Williams is one of the most consistent winners on the E&H women's tennis team. As of March 29, the first-year student had posted seven wins overall and a 3-2 record in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. In doubles, teamed with her twin sister Jill Williams, she has an 8-4 overall record this year. A biology major, Jessi plans to attend dental and orthodontic school after graduation. She joins the E&H tennis program after a stellar career in high school that included membership on the Group A 2008 state championship team.

- David "Chip" WintringhamSO5'11"Burlington, NC / Greensboro DayChip Wintringham completed an impressive fall season for the E&H men's tennis team in 2009. A sophomore playing at No. 1 for the Wasps, Wintringham knocked off a top-ranked athlete from Washington and Lee University to reach the semi-finals of the ODAC Singles Championship. In the spring of 2009, he was named First Team All-ODAC at No. 2 singles and Second Team All-ODAC at No. 1 doubles. A sports medicine major, Chip was a member of the All-Conference team three years in high school. He enjoys mathematics and the Dave Matthews Band.

- 0Hayley PolandGKSO5'8"Mechanicsville, Va. / AtleeHayley Poland, a sophomore from Mechanicsville, Va., has been an important part of the success of her team this season. Her goal tending has led to several shut-outs for the Wasps this season as she has secured numerous saves. She was an important factor last season in the team's winning record, and she looks to help the Wasps into the ODAC tournament this year.

- 1Anthony LowryCFSR6'0 / 180Covington, VA / AlleghanyAnthony Lowry, a senior centerfielder from Covington, Va., has been one the Wasps' lead players on offense. As of March 2009, he boasted a .400 batting average, including 26 singles and four doubles. He was named to the ODAC Sportsmanship Team in 2008 and Honorable Mention Team in 2009. Lowry was also noted in Who's Who Among High School Students. He enjoys playing sports and the outdoors.
- 1Daniel MillsGKJR5'10Abingdon, VA / AbingdonDaniel Mills recently notched nine saves in a tough game against Randolph-Macon. He helped hold the hard-charging Yellow Jackets scoreless for most of the game and has been a key factor in helping the Wasps stay in contention during a difficult season. Daniel was a four-time High School All-District and two-time All-Region selection. In College he was an All-ODAC honorable mention honoree for the 2007 season.

- 2Jarrett CulbrethMJR5'8Tyron, NC / Polk CountyJarrett excells in both the classroom and on the athletic field. In high school he lettered in four sports: wrestling, track, football and soccer. For four years he served on a soccer team that won the regional championship, and he served as captain of the team that it claimed the runner-up title in the state 1A tournament. He was a member of numerous high school honor clubs and served four years on student council (He was voted Best Personality his senior year). An environmental studies major, Jarrett is the recipient of several scholarships, including the Rotary Scholarship. He enjoys fishing, hiking, skiing, and Fresbee golf.

- 2Samantha Hammer2B/OFSO5'4Elkton, VA / Sportswood HighAthletic Training major Samantha Hammer was named All State in indoor track, All District in softball and holds the school record for the 500 meter run in track during her high school career. She was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Hammer enjoys watching drag racing and went to a taping of Pinks All Out. She enjoys fishing and is a huge fan of Derek Jeter and Peyton Manning.

The athletic training major provides a consisten performance with each match, always keeping her team in pursuit of victory against the toughest opponents.

- 3Josh CastleWRSR6-0 / 200Gate City, VA / Gate CitySenior Josh Castle has impressed fans during several games so far during the 2009 season. He has consistently been among the Wasps' top receivers and proved valuable in the team's recent win against Methodist University. In a recent game against Randolph-Macon he took the ball from the quarterback and then heaved it for a 63-yard touchdown pass to teammate Fred George.

- 3JD DysonPGSR5'7" / 140Yorktown, VA / Tabb High SchoolEmory & Henry's JD Dyson, who scored 18 points against LaGrange, missed his first foul shot of the season after notching an E&H record 43 consecutive successful free throws. The previous E&H record for consecutive successful free throws was 26, set in 1980. Dyson returns to the Wasps for his senior season after appearing in all 26 games during the 2008-2009 season, starting 15. Dyson led the team in assists and averaged 7.1 points a game. Dyson scored a season high 20 points at UVA-Wise on 12/1/08, including going 8-8 from the Free Throw line. The Wasps look for Dyson to have his best season yet while providing strong leadership and endless energy.

- 3Keith FennerP-SSJR5-11 / 165Chilhowie, VA / ChilhowieBusiness Education major Keith Fenner was named Hogaheegee Player of the Year, Region C Pitcher of the Year and participated in the VA All Star Game during his high school career. He was a member of the Beta Club and a Pappy Thompson Award Nominee. He enjoys playing sports, fishing, hunting and listing to country music.
- 4Brittany RogersGSR5'6Gate City, VA / Gate City High SchoolConsistently among the top scorers for the E&H women's basketball team, Brittany Rogers has provided the backbone that has sturdied the Wasps to strong conference wins so far this season. An athletic training major, she has realized the promise that she brought to the team four years ago, providing consistency on both offense and defense.

- 5Shannon KellyC/OFSO5'2Meadowview, VA / Patrick HenryInterdiciplinary Math major Shannon Kelly was named Athlete of the Week and All-District Catcher. She was the recipient of the Volleyball Versitility Award, Softball Captains Award and the True Grit Award during her high school career. She was named to the E&H Dean's list and Academic All Conference. Kelly enjoys the outdoors, sports and loves being around her friends and family. The beach is her favorite vacation spot and she plans to become a math teacher and coach.

- 5Lee VanLear3BSR5'8 / 185Verona, VA / Fort DefianceE&H senior Lee VanLear helped Emory & Henry to a big win over Roanoke College in 2009 by going three for three at bat and scoring three runs and batting in two more. With a batting average of .361 and 36 times at bat, he is one of the leading offensive players for the Wasps. He has garnered 13 hits, including one double, one triple and one home run. He has batted six runners home. VanLear is a Physical Education major. He enjoys hunting, fishing and snowboarding.
- 6Megan SmithP/OFR5'6Bluff City, TN / Sullivan East HighPhysical Education and Elementary Education major Megan Smith was named Most Defensive Player, Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Second Team All Conference and All Conference Honorable Mention during her high school career. She was also named to the honor roll. Smith enjoys fishing, riding dirt bikes and four wheelers and loves being outdoors with family and friends. Her goal is to succeed in softball and academics.

- 8Selena TrichelDSSO5'7Hilton Head, SC / Hilton Head High and Virginia HighBiology major Selena Trichel was named Most Valuable Volleyball Player and Best Offensive Player at Virginia High School and was also named 1st Team All Region as well as All-ODAC Academic. Trichel enjoys reading, shopping and traveling to the beach.

- 9Jamie CockerhamOHFR5'9Galax, VA / GalaxChemistry major Jamie Cockerham was named MED District Player of the Year, 1st Team District, 2nd Team Region and Honorable Mention State during her high school volleyball career. She graduated from Galax High School with honors and was Senior Class President. Cockerham enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as watching and playing sports. Her favorite restaurant is Outback Steakhouse.

- 9Haley McCoolPSO5'3Columbus, NC / Polk Co. HighBiology major Haley McCool was the recipient of the Coaches Award, TDB Player of the Week, Scholar Athlete Award, named Most Valuable Player and All-Conference during her high school career. She gradauted third in her class and was the recipient of the Patrick Henry Scholarship. McCool enjoys snowboarding, paintball and has a fish named Mr. LaFonda.

- 9Erik OlsonMSR5'10Blacksburg, VA / BlacksburgA four-year starter for the Wasps, Erik was a key factor in the team's 2008 2-1 win over Guilford College. He scored the first goal of the competition helping to set the tone of the match. On the season, Erik scored one goal and delivered three assists from his midfielder position. During his first year, Erik registered five goals and one assist his first year and, during his sophomore year, he notched two goals and three assists. He came to Emory & Henry as a recipient of the Garnand Scholarship. During the summers, he works at a soccer camp in Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. He enjoys travelling and playing Frisbee golf. He hopes to attend graduate school.

- 10PJ HensonFJR5'8Charlotte, N.C. / Myers ParkThe leading scorer on the team, P.J. Henson put together two points in the E&H battle with Bridgewater College, helping the team to a 3-2 victory over the conference rival. P.J. came to Emory & Henry with a stellar high school soccer background, including two All-Conference and All-Region titles. The pre-med major's academic credentials have been equally impressive: the Kellogg-Boykin Pre-Medical Scholarship, Outstanding First-Year Student in Biology and membership in the Beta Beta Beta Honor Society.

She was an Academic Athlete and named to the Honor Roll.

- 10Sarah PettyGSR5'7White Bluff, TN / Creek Wood High SchoolSarah has scored more than 230 points for the Wasps so far this season, making her one of the most essential offensive weapon's in the arsenal of the E&H women's basketball team. But her value to the team extends to defense. She leads the team in steals with an impressive 38. She ranks among the top in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in both categories. During the 2008-2009 season, Petty also led the ODAC in assist 5.2 per game. She was named an ODAC Second Team player, a Player of the Week and a member of D3 Hoops Team of the Week. The Biology and secondary education major was in the top 10% of her graduating high school class and is a member of the Delta Rho Delta sority, Cardinal Key Club and a proud aunt.

- 10Jared PierceSSJR5'8 / 175Chilhowie, VA / ChilhowieHistory and Geography major Jared Pierce was named All District and All Region for three years, Smyth Co. Player of the Year during his high school career. He also holds high school records for hits and assists. He was a member of the Beta Club and noted in Who's Who in high school. Pierce enjoys playing bluegrass on his guitar and loves to fish.
- 10Samantha ShepardMHSR5'10"Tazewell, VA / TazewellSamantha Shepard was a key offensive player for the volleyball team, which ended its season with 20 wins for the second consecutive season. Shepard was consistently among the top E&H players in kills, including 10 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference against Bridgewater College and 13 in the last game of the regular season against Guilford College.

- 11Krislyn BogartGFR5'5"Bluefield, WV / Montcalm High SchoolPre-med major Krislyn Bogart surpassed the 1,000 point mark, named player of the week, made two W.Va. state tournament appearances, 4 sectional appearances and was a member of a team that was named regional champtions twice during her high school career. She was ranked third in her class, was a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council at Montcalm High School. Bogart enjoys singing, spending time with family and friends, and hopes to graduate with a degree in the medical field.

- 11Josh RigneyGJR6'0" / 160Radford, VA / Radford High SchoolJosh Rigney recently tied an Old Dominion Athletic Conference record for three-pointers. Rigney scored a career-high 33 points in a game against King College and was his team's lead scorer. All 33 points were the result of 11 three-pointers. Rigney, a junior, is a graduate of Radford High School in Radford, Va.

- 11Shane WicksLBSO6-1 / 230Pounding Mill, VA / RichlandsShane has been part of an impressive Wasps defense that helped the team to four straight wins at the beginning of the season. In a game against Methodist University, Wicks led the Wasps with 12 tackles as the team relentlessly stopped the Monarchs in drives that ended within 20 yards of the goal.

- 13Anthony SimsWRJR6-1 / 205Decatur, GA / AvondaleAnthony Sims may long be remembered for his impressive work as a wide-receiver in the narrow E&H victory this season over North Carolina Wesleyan. Anthony, surrounded by defenders, caught a 43-yard pass that set up a vital touchdown late in the game, Later, with only a few seconds left in the game, Anthony calmly pulled down a pass in the endzone from quarterback Drew Piscopo that sealed the victory in the dramatic back-and-forth contest.

- 14Baylie SnyderGSR5'8"Galax, VA / Galax High SchoolE&H senior Baylie Snyder recently was named Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The senior from Galax, Va. averaged 16 points and 6.7 rebounds in helping her team to victories over Guilford (65-61), Lynchburg (73-62) and Randolph (75-51). Snyder connected on 52.9 percent of her shots from the floor and 64.3 percent from the line. Baylie is a sports enthusiast with a background in basketball, softball and volleyball. In high school, she was honored extensively for her accomplishment in these sports. At Emory & Henry she continues to excell both in the classroom and on the basketball court. The athletic training major is a fan of the Lady Vols of Tennessee.

RainesPhysical Education major Antione Atwater was named baseball 1st team All District and received the Coach's Award in wrestling during his high school career. Atwater also qualified in Who's Who Among College Students. He enjoys "Call of Duty" and likes reading and long walks on the beach.

She has consistently been among the conference leaders in digs. The senior from Saltville, VA, has earned All-ODAC honors and promises to be one of the stars of the conference this year.

- 16Samantha LucadoDSSO5'4Salem, VA / SalemEnvironmental and Political Science double major Samantha Lucado currently serves as SAAC President and Vice President of the International Relations Club. She has received All ODAC Academics honors and enjoys traveling and shopping. Lucado hopes to pursue a career as an environmental lobbiest.

- 16Drew PiscopoQBSO5-11 / 185Roaring Gap, NC / AlleghanyDrew Piscopo has risen to the occasion this season for the Emory & Henry football team. Taking over as quarterback in his second year, Drew led the Wasps to four straight wins as the season began, demonstrating both a strong sense of strategy while executing well both a passing game and an ability to run the ball. Perhaps his most memorable moment to date was a last minute connection with a receiver in the endzone, giving the Wasps a victory over North Carolina Wesleyan in the final seconds of the game.

- 18Mark RobertsonOFFR5'8 / 140Roanoke, VA / Patrick HenryMass Communications and History major Mark Robertson graduated from high school as an AP Scholar with honors. He also attended the Roanoke Valley Governor's School and was named to the E&H Dean's List for the Fall 2009 semester. Robertson is an Eagle Scout.

- 20Rachel FertittaMBSO6'2Roanoke, VA / NorthsideRachel, a sophomore from Roanoke, Va., has distinguished herself as one of the top players in the nation in Division III, having received National Player of the Week honors from Sports Imports/AVCA. The 2008 ODAC Rookie of the Year was also named Conference Player of the Week and received MVP honors at the 2009 Emory & Henry Invitational. Her favorite vacation spot is Myrtle Beach, S.C. Where she has traveled to for 20 years.

Physical education and teacher preparation major, Poter was a member of the National Honor Society and enjoys computers, sports and hopes to become a P.E. teacher and coach.

She holds a 4.0 GPA and was 2008 Gate City High School homecoming queen. Burton is a fan of Duke Basketball and enjoys living in the country. Her hobbies include spending time with her best friends, dog and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football on Sundays. Her favorite restaurant is Olive Garden.

She graduated third in her class and is the recipient of the U.S. Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award, John Emory Scholarship, and the Va. State Police Assoc. Scholarship. She is also a member of the E&H Honors Program. Ebersole enjoys going fishing with her dad on the Shenandoah River, country music, CSI, playing with her two nieces and relaxing with family and friends.

With a .306 batting average, Codie has managed 26 hits and 15 runs. He enjoys "Call of Duty 2," "Modern Warefare," the Emory Crossing Deli and making a difference.

Ringstaff has provided steady, reliable yardage and demonstrated flexibility on offense that has helped the Wasps to a winning season. So far this season he has added 135 yards rushing and 61 receiving.

- 22Raegan ClarkeS/DSSR5'7"Danville, VA / TunstallOne of the top conference players in the category of assists, senior Raegan Clark recently was named to the All Tournament Team of the Emory & Henry Invitational. She posted a total of 143 assists in four matches, helping the team to a sweep, including a win against Averett University. An athletic training major, Clarke earned the 2007 Emory and Henry Volleyball 100 Percent Award as well as Tunstall Female Athlete of the Year Award.

- 22Bobby StaffordPGJR5'11 / 170Jonesville, VA / Lee High SchoolBobby Stafford appeared in 25 games for the Wasps during the 2008-2009 season, starting 10. Stafford finished the season second on the team in assists. Stafford proved to be an intense defender and solid facilitator of the offense. The Wasps will rely on Stafford’s toughness and leadership this season while playing multiple positions on the floor. - 23Christina HowardGJR5'7Blountville, TN / Sullivan Central High SchoolChristina has been one of the most productive players for the E&H women's basketball team this season. She has scored, as of mid February, more than 120 points, including 29 three-pointers, for the Wasps and has been an assett on defense. A mass communications major, Christina is extremely competitive and goal driven.

- 23Brittany NelmsOHFR5'9Hardy, VA / Franklin CountyBiology major Brittany Nelms was named 1st Team All District, 2nd Team All Region, 2nd Team All District and participated in the All-Star Game at Hampton High School during her high school basketball career. She loves basketball and enjoys reading the Twilight book series. Her favorite restaurant is Red Robin and color is purple. Nelms enjoys hanging out with friends and is a UNC fan. She hopes to pursue a career as a pediatrician.

- 24Kim CaudillMHFR5'11Galax, VA / Carroll CountyKim, a first-year student, is adding depth and the promise of continued strength in the E&H volleyball program. Already in her college career she has distinguished herself as a lead scorer for the Wasps, chocking up one of the best individual records for kills and blocks. An accounting major, Kim was named 1st Team All State, Region Player of the Year, SWD Player of the Year two times and 1st Team All Timesland during her high school volleyball career.

- 25Michael OwensGSO6'0 / 162Quinton, VA / New Kent High SchoolMichael Owens returns to the Wasps after appearing in two games during the 2008-2009 season. After an off-season of hard work, Owens will be expected to contribute to depth and production at the guard position this season. Undeniably the hardest worker on the team, Owens provides consistent leadership and solid play in the backcourt.

- 28Zach JonesPSO6'0 / 205Fries, VA / Grayson CountyPsychology major Zachary Allen Jones was named All-District 1st team three years in a row, All Coppinger Team, All Region C, All Timesland and All-State Honorable Mention during his high school career. He was also named to the honor roll four years in a row.
- 29Javon LucasRBFR5-7 / 161Conyers, GA / RockdaleAt running back, Javon demonstrated that he is prepared to add more fire to the E&H running game. The first-year student from Conyers, Ga., bolted up the middle of the defensive line for a 54-yard, touchdown run against Methodist University. The touchdown not only solidified the E&H victory but added encouragement to an ever-improving Wasp offense.

He is currently the co-host of WEHC's Sportographic Material and contributes to EHC-TV.

He also holds the Blacksburg High regular season homerun record and high career outfield putouts record. He enjoys hitting baseball, playing basketball and other sports, as well as video games.
- 30Michael McCownGSO5'11 / 165Radford, VA / Radford High SchoolMichael McCown appeared in nine games for the Wasps during the 2008-2009 season. McCown played a career high 15 minutes and scored a career high six points against Randolph College on 2/14/09. McCown will be counted on to provide depth at the forward position this season after an off season of hard work.

- 30Evin O'SullivanLBSR5-9 / 195Fredericksburg, VA / Colonial ForgeEvin O’Sullivan was honored recently as ODAC Player of the Week after returning two turnovers to the endzone in a game against Greensboro College. He is a four year letter winner and earned 1st team All ODAC status in 2007. He led the ODAC in tackles as a junior with 136 and added 4.5 sacks on the season. He is the defensive leader among a number of three year starters. He possesses great instincts that compliment his speed and quickness at the weak side linebacker position. It is not hard to find Evin on our defense because he is always around the football.

- 31Collin MetzPFR6'2 / 185Cape Coral, FL / Cape CoralPsychology major Collin Metz was named All Conference and All District during his high school career. He was also named to the honor roll. Metz hopes to pursue a career in clinical child psychology and attend graduate school at Vanderbuilt University.
- 32Euan ShieldsINFSO5'7 / 180Edinburgh, Scotland / Stewart's MelvillePhysical Education major Euan Shields was a member of the London's Roehampton University soccer team, Greenesboro College baseball team and holds a BSC in Sports Sciences from Roehampton University. Shields enjoys watching movies, house music, and hopes to play baseball at Emory & Henry.
- 33Josh BrownFSR6'6 / 225Mt. Airy, NC / Millersburg Military Acad.Josh Brown returns to the Wasps after appearing in all 26 games during the 2008-2009 season. As a key reserve last season, Brown averaged 8.2 points a game, was second on the team in rebounding, and led the team in charges taken. Brown scored in double figures nine times last season, including career highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds against Westminster on 12/30/08. As a senior leader of the Wasps this season, Brown will be counted on to anchor the middle of the Wasp attack. Mass Communications major Joshua Brown was named to the North Carolina Gator AAU team that posted three state championships. In high school, he was named MVP and to the All-Tournament of the St. Joe Invitational in high school. Brown was twice named to the Millersburg Military Institute dean's list. He recently traveled to Africa and worked at an orphanage.

- 33Samantha HornerGSO5'7"Gate City, VA / Gate City High SchoolPsychology major Samantha Horner was a member of the high school Virginia State Championship basketball and softball teams, named First Team All District basketball and All Region cross country her senior year. She was also a member of the 1st Honor Roll, Math Club, History Club and an AIM Scholar. Horner loves to eat and watch the Food Network. She is a member of Alpha Beta Chi.

- 35Alex LyonsFSR5'10Bristol, TN / Tenn. High SchoolDuring the week of Dec. 6, 2008 Alex averaged 16.3 points over three games and had an average of 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.3 blocks. She connected on 42.9 percent (9-21) from three-point range and 42.6 percent in overall field goals. An art major, Alex was named High School All-Conference in both 2005 and 2006. She is a member of the Beta Club and National Honors Society. She enjoys painting, drawing and traveling to the beach. She hopes to become an architect after graduation.

He was also named to the honor roll four years in a row and was a member of the Beta Club in high school. Blizzard hopes to become a professional wrestler.
- 42Terrance GriggFJR6'5 / 190Charlotte, NC / Hopewell High SchoolTerrance has scored a total of 385 points this season, leading his team in lighting up the board for the Wasps. He also has pulled down the most rebounds, 125, so far this season and has been nailing more than 75 percent of his free throws. The junior's stellar performance this year builds on his strong play from previous seasons. Last season, he appeared in 26 games, starting in 21 of them. The Wasps' lead returning scorer, he averaged 10.3 points per game game last year. Terrence scored a career high 22 points and grabbed a career high nine rebounds against Eastern Mennonite last January.

- 43Garrett StoneOFFR6'0 / 160Floyd, VA / North CrossGarrett Stone was named VIC District Wrestling Runner Up 140 lbs., Consolation Champion 160-165 lbs., Small School State Champions, served as baseball captain and received the coach's award during his high school career. Stone enjoys fishing and hunting.
- 44Josh CunninghamFJR6'4 / 200Vinton, VA / William Byrd High SchoolJosh has been a key player for the E&H men's basketball team this season, helping most recently by scoring nine points in the E&H win over Hampden-Sydney College. As off mid February, he added close to 200 points to the E&H scoreboard on the season and grabbed an average of 3.7 rebounds per game. Josh returned to the team after appearing in 21 games during the 2008-2009 season. He scored a season high 12 points against UVA-Wise last season. His ability to shoot the ball makes him a threat wherever he is on the court.

- 46Jarrod McCombsSS-PFR5'10 / 145Galax, VA / Carroll CountyHistory, Political Science and Education major Jarrod McCombs was named Honorable Mention All-District two years in a row, and Team MVP during his high school career. He was also named to the National Honor Society, Interact, Yearbook Editor and a Quill & Scroll Officer. He enjoys eating, reading, watching tv, hanging out with his girlfriend and listening to music. He is also interested in history and hopes to graduate with a master's degree in Education.

Ed was named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week after pulling down two crucial interceptions against Bridgewater College Oct. 25., 2008. He also provides strength on special teams.

- 82Jonathan HawkinsWRSR6-3 / 205Crockett, VA / Rural RetreatBecause of injury, senior Jonathan Hawkins did not play for the E&H football team until its ninth game, Nov. 7. But when he did play, he made a brilliant impression. During what was his last game on his home field, Hawkins completed two passes for touchdowns, helping the Wasps to victory over Washington and Lee University. Hawkins led the team in receptions with 24 for 551 yards and grabbed 10 touchdowns in the 2007 season. He was also voted the teams MVP. Hawkins also saw time on special teams.

- 95Andrew GiordaniDESR6-1 / 245Woodstock, VA / Central WoodstockAndrew Giordani returns this season for his fourth letter. Earning All Odac Honorable Mention last season, he played a significant role as a starter on defense. He has been selected team captain this year. Giordani is a member of the 1300 Pound Club.

- 99Ashley EbersoleSS/UFR5'6Mauretown, VA / CentralWith interests in education and athletic training, Ebersole was named WHSV Student Athlete of the Week, Student Athlete of the Year, Softball First Team All-Northwestern District Catcher, First Team All-Region Player at Large, Nothern Daily Softball Co-Player of the Year, CHS Softball Player of the Year and CHS Female Athlete of the Year. She graduated third in her class and is the recipient of the U.S. Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award, John Emory Scholarship, and the Va. State Police Assoc. Scholarship. She is also a member of the E&H Honors Program. Ebersole enjoys going fishing with her dad on the Shenandoah River, country music, CSI, playing with her two nieces and relaxing with family and friends.
